What are your experiences with health insurance or Medicaid?

The Collaborative on Health Reform and Independent Living, or CHRIL, is a new 5-year research study funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The CHRIL brings together disability advocates and researchers to study how health reforms affect working-age adults with disabilities.

Part of CHRIL’s research includes interviewing 20-25 adults with disabilities from various backgrounds and locations about their experiences using and getting health insurance and/or Medicaid and Medicare. We hope YOU can help us with this effort!

CHRIL staff from the University of Kansas will be doing these one-on-one interviews by phone in April-July. Each phone interview will last about 30-60 minutes. People who complete these phone interviews will each receive a $40 gift card. No risks to participants are anticipated with this study. Benefits include the opportunity to inform health care policy for all people with disabilities.

Next year we will also be conducting an online survey. Please use the link below to let us know if you are interested in doing an interview in April-July 2017 or a survey later on.

Adults between the ages of 18 and 63 with a disability and/or health condition, we want to hear from you!
